“Over the past few years, Potsiadlo has amassed 260,000 subscribers and 32 million views on YouTube by teaching his audience how to play popular songs on the guitar.”
Big Ideas:
► Start with what is popular. The best way to grow an audience is to create content that people are searching for.
► Leverage trends. Creating a song lesson for Let It Go from the movie Frozen, led to 500k views in a month.
► Make it better. Easy-to-understand graphics in the videos and a downloadable PDF make it much easier to learn than the typical guitar lesson video on YouTube.
► Build a membership. The monthly subscription through Patreon pays more than YouTube ads and provides consistent income.
